Filed Chapter 7 on December 5th, with a discharge expected by March 7th. 341 hearing was today.
I hired an attorney in Nevada for a relatively simple case. I’m single, earn $85K before taxes, have no assets, and provide household support to my parents on Social Security. I had legal insurance that covered everything except the $338 filing fee and debt counseling courses.
After three attorneys told me I couldn’t include my parents and count as a household of three for the means test, my attorney clarified that I provide for them, especially my fully disabled mother.
I feel much better. The trustee asked if my tax returns were accurate, if I reviewed all the documents with my attorney, and where I’m employed.
My only regret is not filing bankruptcy sooner.
