I am so thankful for the people that I don’t even know, yet they offer the best advice. I discharged chapter 7 bankruptcy right before Christmas and I have to say it’s the best thing that I have done to relieve myself from stress and anxiety from debts. I surrendered a 2023 brown Chevy blazer that I love so much! The color and aesthetic, but the car had some engine problems where I would have to keep taking it back to the dealership to get it situated under warranty. So no payments from me. Anyway, I have my little one and no village, so I knew that surrendering my vehicle would mean I had to get something else. I started getting anxious because I thought it was gonna be too challenging to get another car, so I went to a dealership and got a 2026 Toyota Corolla, 600 a month. I hate the monthly payment, but I am gonna suck it up for a good 6 months of on time payment, so I can refinance. Now, the blazer is still sitting here. So I have the Blazer just sitting there for free, now I am realizing that I could have waited longer without a car payment. I don’t know when capital one is gonna pick up the blazer. If it’s months from now, I would seriously consider selling the new car, pay it off and keep driving the blazer so I can save some money. My credit jumped to 640 right after I discharged by the way, which is way better than what it was when I got the Corolla. Looking for advice or suggestions please.
Also, I was able to open an account with a credit union to start saving, I got approved for a discover credit card, secured. I did receive some offers from Mission Lane, but Discover is definitely the way to go.
Thanks again for being so kind and helpful.
