I had filed for chapter 7 and passed the means test as I was unemployed for 6 months. The week of my 341 meeting, I started a new job and disclosed it in the meeting. I make $155k a year so they’re pushing me into chapter 13. It’s so frustrating because my payments are insane, like $1800 a month. Over 5 years it comes out to well over my original debt.
It also feels like I can’t make any more or push to make more, because it’ll all go to creditors anyways.
I feel like I’m getting screwed when if I had just stayed unemployed slightly longer I wouldn’t have had a problem in chapter 7. I’m so frustrated
