We filed Chapter 7 last Friday.
We legitimately forgot about an old vehicle (1989 mustang with bad engine, bad transmission, hasn’t had the key in the ignition for 20 years). It hasn’t ran in 20 years and literally has been a shelf for junk in our garage. I don’t know how we didn’t think to mention it, but it slipped our mind until we were cleaning the garage and said “oh shit.”
We immediately emailed our attorney tonight (Christmas eve) and asked to file an amendment. We weren’t trying to hide anything, we legitimately just didn’t think about it. Again, it’s been 5 days since we filed and our 341 isn’t until the last week of January.
Now my anxiety is through the roof. How often to people forget vehicles when filing? I feel so stupid. We don’t even care if they take it so it was so stupid to forget it. I’m so nervous they are going to think we were hiding it on purpose and not let us file.
Please ease my mind 😭
