I filed for BK last Friday. I’ve kept it private and away from family. I live with family, and we have no shared accounts, cards nothing between us each other.
Now their accounts are frozen, and when they called they said someone used their social security number and filed.
Which is so untrue, I had my attorney do everything and wouldn’t know anyone else’s numbers. All paper work is correct on my end.
Is this because the system is automated and linked the addresses? Can they get this fixed on their own.
I really don’t like disclosing information like this because then the whole family knows… which they are so judgey.
I just don’t want anyone to find out. Has anyone experienced this?
