Currently not yet discharged, should only be another week or 2 at this point. When I first filed I had about $42K+ in debt with another $20k+ in student loans. I filed in Oct and literally weeks later (like 4) was able to get a new car. Now learning from my last loan, I opted out on getting a 2024 or new vehicle with a super high car note just because on paper I could afford it. I opted for a 2018 and although my interest is pretty high (I believe 22%) my credit union will allow me to refinance for a much better apr at 6 months so im okay and can comfortably afford the $300 payment vs what a newer car would have been. The salesperson tried to talk me into a 2024 Bronco with a $600+ note attached and although I could afford it, if i ever lost my job $300 is easier to come up with vs $600. Also today I got approved for a credit card! My first one since filing with Capital One and they approved me for $1000! I was super surprised because i burned them 2x in the bankruptcy so I just knewww they were gonna deny me but they said I could see if im approved without a credit inquiry & boom! Approved! I had them before and even when my credit was better they only offered me $500 so this has really made my day. I only plan to use it for an $8 monthly subscription to start off with. Tbh, Im still so worried about losing everything again to feel comfortable to just use it even for stuff I know i can pay right back aside from the $8 monthly bill lol. Also, im going to do a credit rebuilder loan with my credit union. Im just so happy to have this chance to start over & get my life back on track. Worrying how I will ever start over and that no one will ever approve me for anything ever again. It’s already happening faster than I expected.
