Well…as the title states, my lawyer called me a few hours ago to tell me she found out from the senior lawyers that they are closing the law firm. She was just as shocked as I was and had no idea. Obviously I feel blindsided by this news and am freaking out a bit. This firm was very well respected and had years of great reviews so again this is pretty shocking.
Basically another lawyer has agreed to take on their clients and honor the price paid. We have not filed yet, I was supposed to have my appt in two days to review all of our documents and paperwork and I’m assuming they were going to file in the next week or so? So I guess that’s good news. So now I’m assuming this whole thing will be pushed back by weeks while things get moved over to the new person. However, this news is making me second guess this whole thing for some reason like is this is a sign? I have really bad guilt about bankruptcy to begin with for morality reasons. Am I’m being stupid? lol
