Thank you to all of the kind and brave folks in this sub for posting about their experiences with bankruptcy and financial struggles.
The stress and shame of debt and the math just not mathing can be very isolating. This is not a moral failing. You are utilizing a tool available to you for these challenging circumstances.
My experience: Filed Ch 7 in Oregon. $100k in unsecured debt. Unemployed. Hired a lawyer who was gracious and prepped me for my 341 (yesterday) and it was the most boring one of the hr I was there.
My (non-legal) advice: Don’t wait to get started. This subreddit is a goldmine.
