This is a lot to explain but 6 years ago my husband and I filed bankruptcy. It was dismissed because my lawyer didn’t file it completed when we thought he did. We refiled and was discharged in early 2021. Now we are trying to get a new car (we’ve both gotten auto loans over the last 6 years and had no issues) and they are saying we can’t get approved for an auto loan because of the dismissed bankruptcy from 6 years ago and it needs to be cleared from the court. I don’t even remember who our lawyer was from that long ago let alone any information on how to have a dismissed bankruptcy dismissed. We are so frustrated as we were not told about any of this until after we had already payed the down payment and paid the registration for the vehicle.
