Is there any real difference between filing for bankruptcy while still having a 780 credit score with no missed payments, no charge-offs, and very few inquiries, versus stopping payments, letting accounts become delinquent and charged off, and then filing later?
From a credit-report standpoint, does filing before any derogatory marks appear make recovery easier afterward, or does the bankruptcy itself outweigh everything else? …Curious if anyone has experience with either approach and what the long-term impact was on credit rebuilding, lending, and overall financial recovery.
