Not yet discharged, but I saw in NDC the status flipped to completed. This prompted me to log into PACER for the first time in months, just to see if there’s anything brewing over there.
Well, well, WELL:
It is ORDERED that /U/READPARSE is released from the obligation to forward funds to the Trustee.
Folks, I’ve been looking forward to THAT order for a long time. It was filed and entered yesterday. 60% of my take-home pay has been going to the Trustee for MORE than 5 years (we had to replace a car during the plan, and the payment was added to the plan as a continuing debt, which increased the payment).
The funny thing is that I actually lost my job at the end of last year, and I got six months severance. That ends at the end of this month, so I get one more severence check. It will be nice to get to keep the whole thing.
And, as another bonus, I finally got a job, which starts on Monday. So there will be basically no gap between paychecks, which is a blessing. Because of the crappy economy, this job pays quite a bit less than my previous job, but with the Chapter 13 finished, my take-home will be a decent bit more. I’ll keep my eyes open for a job that pays better, but… whatever… things are looking up. Very excited.
Oh, and the Trustee has a surplus of $8,900, which will be refunded to us… eventually. Not sure how long that will take, or the discharge, but I do think (and the attorney thinks) it will all be done before the end of July.
Hey, as long as I can stop making those payments, that’s fine with me.
