I just finished my 341 meeting this morning and I am feeling so much relief. To give a quick summary of why I needed to file chapter 7 in the first place. I had some over drafted bank accounts, cell phone bills that went to collections, but the main one that caused me needing to file was I had a loan for a car. That car engine died (not due to my own fault) it was defective and the company didn’t want to warranty it. I stopped paying the loan and they sued me.

So after being told by someone at work I could file for chapter 7 I looked into it and talked to an Attorney. Went through the process and as I waited for my meeting to come up. I kept thinking and trying to prepare for how the meeting will go. Reading stories here on this reddit etc. I even uploaded all my documents into Notebook LM (Gemini Notebook) and had it act as a trustee and point out things that could come up in the meeting. Big mistake as AI literally points out every little detail. lol

The meeting actually went very smooth. The trustee asked of course the basic questions all yes or no questions mainly. Only one question the trustee asked at the very end was “Why do you have so many bank accounts?” I just told them I was bank shopping for high rate APYs and bank sign up bonuses for extra money to pay off debts etc. (which was the true case) She said You are good to go and good luck! My attorney called me after and said everything went great and I can start building my credit again. The amount of relief I felt after it was over was enormous! It feels great to get a second chance.

Just wanted to post my experience with the 341 meeting for others to find just in case they are nervous like I was the whole time waiting. I had a million possibilities how the meeting could go, especially with AI dissecting my paper work to every inch. It took 5-7 minutes tops. If you are thinking about it or have filed and are waiting and If you aren’t hiding anything genuinely then it’ll be okay!

Now we move on to the credit rebuild phase and take this second chance seriously and not for granted! Good luck to all.
