Straightforward chapter 7, about to be discharged any day my attorney says.
But my biggest regret: taking out a HELOC a couple of years ago to consolidate debt.
I should have just filed then, because now I have 40k less equity to use towards a future down payment that would have just been wiped out if we had kept the 40k on credit cards/personal loans.
So take it from me: if you’re struggling and don’t see a way out, file now. Do NOT think a HELOC will fix your problems.
