So for the better part of 2 years I’ve been contemplating filing bankruptcy and will finally pay my attorney this Wednesday to file. However, when having a conversation with a friend who filed bankruptcy a few years back, she brought up a point and I’m trying not to panic. The customer service of my attorney kinda sucks as they refuse to answer any doubts or questions i have via email, phone or just a quick Zoom meeting. So my car was repoed close to a month ago and said friend was telling me if the repo hasn’t hit my credit, that I should hold off on filing. Is this necessarily true? What would happen if I filed, and the repo hits my credit after the fact? Would it still get discharged? Thanks in advance for any insight. I was hoping to file this month since i had lapses of unemployment in February-March abd June-August since im an educator. Located in florida
Edited to add: the car repoed is worth more than the balance owed.
