Title says it all, it’s been a long, sometimes painful journey, sleepless nights, and feelings of despair. But somehow, we made it. In some respects, it feels like the longest 5 years of my life, especially how my kids have gone from babies, to one in double digits, and the other one pushing them. It’s almost surreal. I thought there was going to be this moment of elation, but it’s more a calmness. I know we’re not out of the woods yet, we still have to go through the final audit/motion to discharge etc.
My advice to anyone that feels burnt out. I’ve been there. But you just have to keep going, and keep making those payments by any means necessary. You got it. Chapter 13 allowed me to retain my assets, so I’m extremely grateful for the process. This group was also a big help when people have/gad similar experiences.
Lastly, anyone familiar with the eastern district of New York and typically how long the discharge is? All payments are made, were caught up on the mortgage, there should be no hold ups from our end. We also completed the second debtors course. Any insight is appreciated.
