Hey! My partner and I filed for chapter 7 in TN back in June. All went well, meeting of creditors was easy. Anything you’re nervous about, I can tell you it’s easier than you think. But I wanted to warn folks about Flex. We had been using it to split our rent for a couple of years, always paid on time and owed them nothing. I mentioned using Flex to my bankruptcy lawyer and she didn’t think we would lose access but we did. We got notified later that month that flex would be suspending our account due to the recent bankruptcy. 10 days before rent was due. It was rough, we went into full panic mode but we got our rent paid and have been paying in full since. We received our official discharge a few weeks ago and I decided today to see if flex would take us back. Immediately denied. That’s fine. But I checked with split pay and got an immediate approval. So if you use a rent splitting app, definitely be prepared to have your account suspended! And check the other apps to see if you can swap once you do get that suspension. I’m not sure if I got approved on split pay because we’ve been discharged or if I would’ve gotten the approval prior to discharge, I wish I would’ve checked before now. Hope this helps someone!
