I wanted to share what I did because I don’t see it mentioned much. I learned this from Tiktok University and thought more people should know about this ‘HACK’
I signed up for an individual legal insurance plan (I use MetLife Legal, but there are others) for $20 a month. I didn’t get it through a job, I just signed up myself.
When I filed, the insurance covered ALL my attorney fees. I only had to pay the court filing fees and documents (around $400).
It basically turned a massive upfront cost into a cheap monthly subscription. There’s even a cheaper plan for like $14 if you’re on a super tight budget, but I went with the $20 one for more coverage.
Just make sure you use a lawyer in their network. It saved me a ton of stress. Hope this helps someone.
