I wanted to let everyone know that bankruptcy is not the end of the world. After I got all of my credit cards wiped clean, I saved what I was paying in minimum payments and put it into a high yield savings account. My FICO 8 and FICO 9 auto credit scores were 775 and 797.
I needed a new car so I went to the dealership and financed a used 2023 Mazda CX50 and got a 4.92% interest rate. I took what I saved and used it as a down payment. I walked out with the used (new to me) car and I am not underwater.
It can be done, and there is hope after bankruptcy. Everyone’s situation is different but if I can do it, any one could do it.
