I was willed a 2009 Corolla by a dead family member. It’s paid off. I have a 2025 Elantra KBB of $18,000 but I owe $33,000 because I rolled in negative equity. I also have a Jetta KBB of $16,000 but I owe $24,000. I’m speaking to an attorney tomorrow. I’m currently unemployed and 2 months behind on both cars.
Will I be able to keep any of them? I made horrible decisions because I was unmedicated and recently found out Im bipolar type 1. I’m fully medicated now and dealing with the consequences of my impulsivity. I also have 29k in credit card debt.
Is there ANY possible way they’ll let me keep the Corolla and the Jetta? I need a car for work and my girlfriend drives the Corolla. She doesn’t have a car.
