Not asking for legal advice but hoping someone that’s gone through a similar situation can share their experience. I’m looking to file in September or October. I just found out that there is a promotion opportunity that is in another state. I qualify for ch7 based on my current salary but it will be very close if the promotion pans out. Timeline wise, I would be offered the promotion before filing, start date will likely be between filing and 341. Would the increase in salary cause me to lose the ch7 eligibility and force me to a ch13? What if the start date were to be pushed out past the 341 but before the case was closed? To throw another wrench in my situation, the promotion is out of state. I currently own a home in Texas. I would wait until everything was done before putting the house on the market. My family would stay in texas, live in The house while I commuted to the new office for the three days I need to be in the office staying at a hotel for three nights. Is that even feasible? Another option is holding off on filing until I move states and sale the house. I’m only expecting about $25k in equity after fees and the principal being paid off. Based on my debts, that money would be gone within a year just by paying the minimums.
