I officially hired an attorney today but I am confused and uneasy.
The attorney told us we had to file Ch 13 as we make 130k with a household of 5. I felt like we were under the median by 5 to 10k. State of Utah for reference.
We went ahead and sent the payment for Ch 13 filing fees and attorney fees. I turned in all the necessary paperwork.
They said they predict our monthly payment to be around $150 a month.
Rent 1730
Car 1 1000
Car 2 400
Insurance 175
Cell 220
Internet 88
Electricity 120
Gas 120
Storage 75
Student loans 220
Student loan 118
Estimates of other things
Groceries with toiletries 1200-1500
Gas 200
Of course all the extras for kids clothes, sports school supplies etc.
Our take jome is 7600k ish every month.
I guess my questions are.
Has anyone had that low of a payment?
Did they get the numbers wrong should I push the issue of a ch7?
I guess we are just lost this is all new to us and we are already struggling to see clearly but this has muddled it even more.
We are happy to stay in a 13 but want to make sure that is the best move for us.
Advice is welcome!
