Hi,
I’m in Texas if that matters.
I have my first consultation with an attorney in a couple weeks but I’m losing my mind over a car I just purchased a couple weeks ago.
Basically, I was underwater on my previous car, by about $8K, and then the engine ate it and needs to be replaced.
Rather than spending another $6k (which I didn’t have) for a new engine, I was gifted money from family for a down payment for a new base model Toyota.
I plan on reaffirming the new loan on the Toyota, and surrendering the old car. New car loan is with WF.
I’m also using these events to come to terms with my credit card debt which I’ve been drowning in for years.
I’m currently current in all payments. But the Decision to file 7 feels like my only option.
I’ve done research, I’m in Texas which is a generous bk state.
Can someone chill me out regarding keeping the new Toyota, which I love?
I’m terrified about the timing of the purchase a couple weeks ago, since once I stop making cc payments I’ll have enough saved to file bk 7 in a couple months.
Thanks
