Hello, about 3 weeks ago I purchased two Nintendo Switch 2s on two separate credit cards for my nephews, as they both had a birthday this month.
Obviously I have a lot of debt that I can’t keep up with and I had never considered bankruptcy until a friend suggested it to me just a few days ago, and now I’m seriously considering it because I don’t see any other option at this point… was it irresponsible for me to buy them two consoles? Yeah… but I also love them very much and I wanted them to have nice gifts this year.
I plan to consult a lawyer within the next couple of weeks, but I have a lot of anxiety over the idea that I made two luxury purchases as of recent, and I don’t want to be accused of fraud because my initial intention was to try to pay off the Switches. I’d appreciate any insight from anyone else over this matter if only to ease my anxieties about it. I feel pretty embarrassed to even bring this up with a lawyer because I’m afraid of being denied.
Edit to add: one is an existing credit card that I’ve kept up with, I had that particular card paid off with 0 balance because I never used it much. The second credit card I just opened for the purpose of buying the other Switch.
