Just wanted to give some motivation.
I was banking with Chase before filing Chapter 7 in July 2025, but decided to switch to a federal credit union because I wanted to build a more personal, long-term banking relationship. My bankruptcy was discharged in November, and I was approved for a Mission Lane CC with a $2K limit that same day.
Since then, rebuilding has been the name of the game because BABY, I WANT A HOUSE. 🏡😂
I got approved for a $500 personal loan through my FCU, paid it off early, and last week got approved for their Visa Rewards CC with a $1,500 limit!
So now my credit profile consists of two credit cards, my car note, and those pesky student loans that I wish could’ve been discharged, too. 🥴
But, oh well. That’s what IBR is for! 😆
Just wanted to share my experience because the bankruptcy is one thing; how you handle the aftermath is another. Now I’m focused on keeping everything paid on time, letting my credit age, and getting myself closer to those house keys. 🔑
