I’m currently having a meltdown of epic proportions. We filed Chapter 13 in PA almost 3 years ago. We were supposed to be out of our plan in May of 2026. Our attorney and his partner have tripled our fee since we started this process. Originally this was supposed to cost us $5k, we’re at over $16k. They took a chuck out of our home sale (in addition to what the plan was owed) last year and led us to believe all was well and caught up.
Today we received a court filing where they have gone to the judge and asked for yet another $6k for services we thought were paid for with our home sale. I am spiraling. I’m still in my 13 over my attorney fees- NOT the debt I owed. What on earth do I do at this point. The judge keeps granting these increases and now we have this motion that says “Take this to a lawyer at once” MY LAWYER IS WHY WERE HERE!!!
What the hell do I do?
