Ive filled out all the required information and provided all the documents requested so my chapter 7 will be getting filed soon, but today the paralegal helping with my case had me inflate my expenses quite a bit and now I’m worried I made a mistake trying to file. I’m in Texas and about 13k below the median income for the means test and really am drowning in my debt but having to inflate my expenses has me worried that the lawyer just took the case without any regard whether or not it would go through. Will the trustee assigned to my case question the expenses I have listed? I’m living with my parents and the paralegal had me add expenses to show that I’m helping with rent/utilities which I am not because I barely have enough money to get by after my minimum payments. Along with the rent/utilities that were added she also had me inflate a few more expenses. To what extent is the trustee going to look/ask about the expenses I have listed? I guess what I’m asking is how screwed am I? I was hopeful about the process up until today which now I just feel like I wasted $1300 for nothing which actually has only left me with a few hundred dollars until I get paid again.
