Verizon just wiped ALL 3 of my device installment plans after I surrendered 🙌 And the best part… I didn’t have to turn in any of my devices.
When you “surrender,” you’re really surrendering the installment agreement, not the device itself. So you keep your devices, but the debt tied to them is gone.
If you’re trying to get a clean slate and lower your bill, I definitely recommend looking into it! You do have to call the bankruptcy department using the number they send in the email though.
Only downside is you can’t upgrade or trade in those devices anymore, but honestly, that’s wasn’t a big deal for me.
I’ve also seen people say they were able to take their phones to other carriers and open a line there too 👀
