Hello all! Just wanted you all to know to do your research ahead of time before consultations!! I thought I had it all figured out – obtain several consultations with different attorneys. While this is actually important, it is also important to look up who the trustees are in your district. Even just setting up a call and having a conversation to go over basic numbers will do it. Because I failed to do that, I ended up in a bad spot. At first we ended up getting the trustee that our attorney wanted but that trustee was also one that I had reached out to (i didn’t speak to this trustee, but I spoke with an attorney in the same firm). Anyway, the trustee decided to drop me and now I’m assigned to the one our attorney did not want. The meeting was moved up and I have been asked to submit only the last 30 days of bank statement from date of filing so far. We might for sure lose our car now (2,000 over allowed exemption) as this trustee is one to allegedly want anything they can get-is what I was told. Back to being very anxious and scared. 😭
