As the title states my attorney reached out to me via email letting me know that my chapter 7 has been discharged.
Date filed: Dec 15th 2025 341: Jan 20th 2026 Discharge: March 31st 2026
The actual bankruptcy process didn’t take too long. What took long for me was talking to all the attorneys and deciding who was the best fit. I started talking to attorneys back in August of 2025. The attorney that I went with went far beyond the free consultation in my opinion. She gave me lots of information. When I reached out to her in August, she said given my income and all of my details it would be best to wait until December to file and now we’re done!
If you’re contemplating bankruptcy of any chapter, please please please talk to multiple attorneys. Some have your best interest at heart, and some just want to make some money real quick. Those of you that think bankruptcy is the end of the world, it’s not. I personally kept my house my car and only thing that I was really out of was about $2300 for attorney and court fees that relieved me just shy of 200k in debt. My credit score on Credit karma is sending that around 650. Generally speaking life goes on after bankruptcy, just hopefully you don’t make the same mistakes or have some unforeseen circumstances happen again.

Edit: Got approved with $500 limit for Capital one Savor one and $2000 limit for mission lane.
