i recently just talked to an attorney and we make below median income but he said we would not qualify considering that our main reason why we’re filing is because of our huge monthly payment for our financed car that we’re going to be giving up for bankruptcy anyway so it does not fall under qualifying expenses and that our monthly expenses is too low that we can still afford it. We pay 1k /month for the car with insurance. Our rent is relatively low since we’re in texas so we pay 1k for rent without utilities. But he said we could still afford the 1k rent payment if we’re giving up the car but that’s the point because we dont want to keep the car or continue making payments even if the monthly payment is lowered. We just want to save up as much as we can.
