NOT LEGAL ADVICE JUST MY EXPERIENCE !
I spoke to attorneys to file chapter 7 and it was ridiculous all amounting to $4000-$4200 with 8 nuisance collection court cases!
I was able to get 4 cases closed by sending debt validation letters.
I opted to file Ch7 myself and all forms are FREE from official website even have a complete guide and instructions.
Filled the forms and filed it. Cost was $380+ which I asked to be broken in 4 payments and didn’t have to pay any money at filing!
They require a mailing matrix (list of creditors and who the account was sold to their information. I downloaded a free (you are ALLOWED one yearly) credit report from Experian and had a bot agent take the information and convert to Excel CSV file and cross checked it to my own bills and creditors and it was done!
Eventually the trustee will need bank statements and copies of last two years of tax returns (MUST HAVE LAST TWO YEARS OF TAX RETURNS) attend the 341 when scheduled and just speak the truth!
Looking forward to a fresh start for less than $400….!
