My wife and I received our discharge Nov 28.

the Bible says …

“……the borrower is the slave of the lender.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

This is Truth. It’s a form of voluntary (for most) indentured servitude. Debt can literally limit the choices you have in your pursuit of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.

It can trap you in a mindset that ruins your quality of life and at times it can feel as if there is no light at the end of the Tunnel.

We spent 20 years digging a financial hole and 15+ years keeping our head just above water.

Spending our highest earning years putting kids through college, Living life as we treaded water in what felt like a sea of debt.

I lived to be 60 yrs old before I ever missed or was late on a payment. When retirement hit it all caught up with us and the last 3 yrs were hellish. It soon became evident that bankruptcy might be our best option.

I know our situation was my fault so it was a hard decision. We were taught to take responsibility for our choices so I was conflicted, but once the choice to file was made we were able to REALLY breathe…and breath Deep for the first time is years.

We had no idea how much stress we were under until it was gone.

The 3 1/2 months since our discharge have been liberating. The weight and tension that were lifted in our home is palpable and We’ll never go back.

Congrats to those who made it out and for those who are still on the road to being “free”… we cheering for you!
