I am a little in shock tbh because I thought it would be way more difficult to get credit cards following a bankrupsy. Mine was discharged in late March. Now granted, at discharge my scores were around 600, so not rock bottom.

Early April (after discharge): got a $5000 capital one savor.

My credit has gone up to about 642 on experian since that time. I have to travel on occasion for work and need to wait for reimbursement, so I went back looking for a card that I could get some travel points and increase my credit line so I could stay under 10% when I need to travel.

Today: got a $4500 best western visa with no annual fees.

I do make good money….. but it seems absolutely insane to me that I could get almost $10k in credit cards literally months after a bankrupsy discharge, and neither was secured. I had thought this would sink me for years and I had about 90k written off in chapter 7 (from a stint of unemployment, medical, and lawyer fees from a divorce a few years back) Hands down the best decision I ever made. Keep your heads up everyone. It will all be ok. πŸ™‚
