Hi,
As a compulsive gambler 200,000 debt (majority were acquired this year), I’ve spoken to multiple attorneys now who says to wait 6 months for clean statements to file and can stop making payments now because you want to show hardship.
Also I’ve banned myself from casinos, spoke with a therapist today and will be attending my first GA meeting this Saturday.
My fiancé wants to help and pay the creditor with the largest balance which is a SoFi personal loan of $45,000 which also has the highest interest.
I know there’s this 90 day rule, so if I wait 6 months to file is that lump sum payment okay? If I take the help, that would give me extra money each month to at least pay towards 6 affirm loans, and 12 credit cards. I know some attorneys said to just stop paying, but some of the affirm loans were taken out as of last week with 0 payment on them so I feel like I HAVE to pay something.
Any advice is appreciated. I think I’m even more lost now with the 6 months wait, my credit score is already at 600 from just credit utilization, late payments would just make it even worst + the bankruptcy.
