I had my 341 last week. The only objection was my step father. He hired a lawyer to try and force the sale of my home. I had about 50k$ in debt I’d been trying to pay off before I lost my job a year ago. I have tried several times to get him to sign off on the mortgage (I’m the only one who’s paid on it, he cosigned when mom was alive)
The trustee declared if it’s 50/50 interest, he won’t gain anything by forcing the sale, I get 100k$ pops gets the same. He’s a multimillionaire.
I requested to reaffirm the mortgage but I’m concerned he’s going to continue to refuse to sign anything. He keeps saying I’m trying to, “scam him” I think his new wife is legit evil and pitting him against his family so she can steal the inheritance. I don’t want anything from him, I just want to keep the home I paid for. Any feedback or advice?
