I’m in the planning stages of filing; my debt was incurred by gambling and I’m approaching 6 months clean, which is the benchmark I want to reach before filing for bankruptcy.
I’m currently getting back on my feet and living with family, but I’m wondering if anyone can speak on how easy or difficult it was finding a place to rent after filing?
For context, I live in Virginia and I’m looking into Ch 7. If I file in December, my hope is that I’ll be able to start saving right away and move out in the summer or early fall of 2027. I don’t know what to expect as far as approvals for apartments, or how bankruptcy plays into a new application – any information is greatly appreciated.
