I met with an amazing attorney today who gave me more hope than I’ve had in a long time. I want to get started but she needs her $5000 fee up front. I have no idea how we are going to pay this any time soon. We can pay in installments but I feel like it’s going to take months and months. Borrowing from family is not an option. Not sure if this is a rant or advice-seeking… maybe I just need reassurance?
Edit: this is for a Chapter 13. I know she’s expensive but she’s extremely experienced and well regarded in the field. She was recommended to me by another lawyer and her reviews are stellar and plentiful. I fully trust her so I felt like it was worth the extra money. Her office is located in probably one of the wealthiest towns in the US (suburb of a major city- I don’t live there fyi) so I expected to pay a higher price for her.
