[Alabama]

[My situation]

I had ~$30-50k in credit card debt. ($15k on one card, $9k on the second, and then some with $2-5k balances).
I had ~$10k in unsecured installment loans.
I still have $26k in student loan debt that didn’t get discharged.
I still owe $8,000 on an auto loan I’m making “Voluntary payments” on.
My only significant asset was my car (I have a lot of positive equity in a 2023 Toyota Corolla LE, kept the loan due to 6.1%APR)
Live with family, and paying my share of the bills.
Prior to filing Chapter 7, my credit was a FICO 690 as I continued to stay current until I filed (All accounts say “Discharged in chapter 7 bankruptcy, never late”).

[My fear]

During the proceedings, I was a little afraid that my biggest creditor would fight the proceedings. However, they didn’t. When I filed, my score did tank to a 590 – 610. No one showed up to the 341 meeting, and it went breezingly. The trustee just asked if I sold property within the past 12 months.

[Aftermath]

Obviously I got rejected for a couple of secured cards. For some reason, my credit union kept the $600 limit card open I have with them, and continue to report the $0 balance. I don’t touch that card. I have a $150 limit secured credit card through Self, and I have a couple of installment loans through Affirm. I’m taking what I can get. My student loans didn’t go away (They’re not that significant). 4 Months after my discharge, my credit score is a 657.

Edit: The reason I was able to get so much debt was my credit score peaked at 775 and I got reckless.
