Finally discharged today!
Timeline: Filed 10/14/2025 | Meeting 11/12/2025 | Deadline 01/12/2026
My discharge was finalized today after I completed my filing fee payments. My fee waiver was initially denied, requiring four installments of $84.50. I paid the final installment (due Feb 10) early today, and the discharge appeared on PACER hours later.
I handled everything Pro Se. Since Upsolve doesn’t support North Carolina, I researched the entire process myself. (I later realized NC allows online filing, but only discovered this right at the end.)
The 341 Meeting was smooth but lasted about 10 minutes. The trustee covered standard questions regarding assets and employment.
The only scare: I received a Motion to Dismiss because my credit counseling certificate was dated two days post-filing. I had filed immediately on 10/14 to stay a Civil Summons, and the holiday weekend delayed the certificate issuance. I successfully argued my case, and the motion was withdrawn.
Outcome: Over $80k in debt discharged. I surrendered my car in April 25 and remain car-free. It is a fresh start—living consciously and strictly within my means.
Don’t be afraid! Do not give up! It’s not easy, but YOU CAN DO IT! Just be PATIENCE, be ORGANIZED, keep FOCUS, do YOUR PART and Trust GOD for the rest!
If you have assets, I highly recommend an attorney, but everything I mention above, YOU NEED TO DO FOR YOU, YOUR FAMILY and YOUR LIFE!
